3. Research Training Program (RTP)

Objective
Deliver graduates with the skills required for careers in academia and other sectors. Support collaboration between HEPs, industry, and research end-users.
Scholarship Offerings
RTP scholarships cover tuition fees, stipends for living costs, and allowances for HDR-related expenses.
RTP Scholarship Periods
RTP scholarships last 3 to 4 years for full-time research doctorate students and 6 to 8 years for part-time. For research master's students, they last 2 years for full-time and up to 4 years for part-time.
Application Process
Administered by HEPs, RTP scholarships have individual application processes. Prospective students should contact HEPs directly for application details and may apply to multiple HEPs.
Grant Allocation
2024 RTP grants to HEPs are determined by a formula reflecting their performance in research income and student support.
The Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship offers fee remission to high-achieving international students. For the year 2024, the scholarship provides various options: a $10,000 tuition fee remission in the first year of an undergraduate degree, a 50% fee remission for the three-year duration of an undergraduate degree, or a 100% fee remission for the three-year duration of an undergraduate degree. The specific benefits for 2025 have not been confirmed.
- GCE A-levels: at least three A* grades with numerical grades and an average result of at least 97% in the best three subjects
- Australian Foundation Studies: the overall result at least 98%
- International Baccalaureate (IB): score of at least 43 (completed at a secondary school outside of Australia)

About Scholarship
Recognizes academic excellence for international students pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s coursework at Macquarie University. Provides up to AUD 10,000 towards tuition fees. Highly competitive.
Eligibility
Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 (postgraduate) or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 (undergraduate). Commence study in the indicated session and year as per the scholarship offer.

Open to all students starting their studies at Deakin. It is recommended that scholarship applications be submitted at least one month before starting your studies at Deakin.

$5000 per year in cash or towards student contributions.
- A completed Deakin International Scholarship Program application form
- A personal statement (300 words)
- A completed application to study at Deakin including academic transcripts.
Your statement must be written by you and reflect your personal views. It should contain:
- An outline of why you want to study at Deakin University
- An overview of any extracurricular activities and work experience (paid or voluntary) you have undertaken
- Why you think you would make an outstanding ambassador for Deakin University
- Any other information that will assist your application.
You may also be asked to attend an interview.

- Once you receive the Letter of Offer, apply for the scholarship by the closing date with academic records and a personal statement.
- The university panel will review your application, and you will receive notification of the outcome.
Receiving the Scholarship
- Accept the program offer and scholarship by the deadline.
- The scholarship is applied prior to each trimester's census date upon meeting ongoing enrolment requirements.
- Pay the remaining balance of fees by the census date based on your enrolment.
